Find your concentration fractured by distractions?

With email (multiple accounts), tweets, skype, facebook, instant messaging, bouncing dock icons, multiple apps vying for your attention, text messages, voicemails, phone calls etc. it can be hard to fully focus on a bit of writing whether that be an important email, a blog post or a proposal.

I had already started using just a simple text editor for writing (TextEdit works and TextMate is great too) but the people behind Ommwriter have taken it step further by shutting out all other applications and distractions on your computer and allowing you to focus on the task at hand. Assuming I also turn my phone off.

They succinctly summarise the problem as follows:

We are all at the mercy of our wild monkey minds. Incessantly swinging from branch to branch.
