Flash vs HTML5
The growth of flash for our mobiles was last week questioned after Adobe announced they would be ending the development of Flash Player for major mobile devices, concentrating instead on HTML5.
In a blog post on Wednesday, Adobe's Vice President and General Manager of Interactive Development at Adobe, Danny Winokur stated that, “HTML5 [is] the best solution for creating and deploying content in the browser across mobile platforms…as HTML5 is now universally supported on major mobile devices.”
Despite this news, Adobe will still continue to support its current Flash plug-ins and “future work with Flash on mobile devices will be focused on enabling Flash developers to package native apps with Adobe AIR for all the major app stores."
So it seems that even after the untimely passing of one of the world’s most influential technology pioneers, Steve jobs is still influencing the world from beyond the grave.
