Today’s April Fool hilarity
The media’s attempts to fool everyone on April 1st always makes me laugh. Here are a selection of some today’s stories.
The Good
Some of the stories are genuinely quite amusing and well thought out:
- The Daily Mail would have us believe that West Ham United will be playing in an Ann Summers sponsored kit, complete with pink trim.
- An amusing effort from The Guardian details Labours election campaign, whereby they will portray Gordon Brown as a “Dirty Harry” style hardman.
- The Telegraph have come up with a tale about ferrets being employed by Virgin Media to lay cables for its broadband service.
- Another pretty good effort from The Independent tells us of the plan for the Hadron Collider 2 to use the Circle line in the London underground.
The Bad
And of course, where there’s good, there’s bad:
- The hilarious guys at The Daily Mirror carry a tale about the worlds first calorie negative sweet, including an interview with Prof. A.Prilfoolius. How we laughed.
- Everyone’s favourite toilet paper substitute The Sun have come up with an absolutely unfunny piece about referees using Segway style machines to “keep up with the games fastest players”.
It’ll be days before my ribs stop tickling thanks to that Sun piece…...April Fool!
